台中洋碩美語 makes our lives valuable

Wife carrying  derives from the custom of bride kidnapping in Finland. 

Every man in the race need to carry a woman (no need to carry their own wives) and  get through an obstacle race.

If the female’s feet touch the ground then you need to stop for 15 seconds as a punishment. 

If you win, you can also bring back beer as heavy as your wife after the race.

這項運動項目起源於芬蘭(Finland)是由古時候搶婚(bride kidnapping)的習俗延伸而來將對象背在身上跑回村內。

比賽規則非常簡單就是每隊當中需有一男一女

雖然這項運動是從搶婚而來但在比賽中並不一定要背自己的老婆任一年滿17、重達49公斤的女性皆能夠參賽

男性對有必須將女性對有背起進行障礙賽(obstacle race)在最短時間內完成障礙賽的組合便能獲得冠軍

但在比賽過程中女性隊員的雙腳若不慎觸地該隊則必須在原地罰站15秒再繼續進行比賽

如果你贏得了比賽你還能夠將和老婆一樣重量的啤酒帶回家此運動項目也從1992年開始舉行全球性的世界大賽。
