Who Is Andy Warhol?

相信同學們多多少少都聽過安迪沃荷(Andy Warhol)這號人物，在上週的娛樂英文中也介紹了女神卡卡(Lady Gaga)的新專輯PopArt(普普藝術)，但是大家可知道安迪沃荷是美國普普藝術的創始人之ㄧ，也是最具代表性的普普藝術家。今天，Leon就跟大家介紹一下何為普普藝術。首先，我們現讀一段擷取於Wikipedia精簡的解釋：

Pop art is an art movement that emerged (出現) in the mid-1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop art presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery (圖像) from popular culture such as advertising, news, etc. In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material. The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

文中說明，普普藝術其實就是將大眾文化、商業、藝術三者合一的現代藝術潮流；藝術家可以自由將廣告、新聞、包裝、名人、商品等等日常生活的項目藝術化，或加入一些無相關的元素。因此普普藝術的呈現，雖然是日常生活中的東西，但是卻加入很多藝術家的個人元素，有時候嚴肅，有時候惡搞，例如變色的人臉肖像和罐頭與可口可樂的圖畫，和傳統的前衛藝術大相逕庭。

而安迪沃荷的畫作也充斥著這些摩登元素。例如，最近以一億元美金成交的《死亡與災難》(Death and Disaster)其實是一系列的畫作，其中包含《紅色車禍》(Red Car Crash)《紫色跳樓者》(Purple Jumping Man)和《橙色災難》(Orange Disaster)。我們來看看這些作品，同學們可以從中看到什麼呢？

During the 1960s, I think people forgot what emotions were supposed to be. And, I don’t think they have ever remembered.(我認為1960年代的人們忘記了什麼是情感，而我也不覺得人們有想起來過)
